This really depends on the décor in the rest of your room. If you have a lot of silver, nickel, or brushed aluminum accents in your décor, then the wrought iron curtain rods will coordinate best. Most iron curtain rods are intended to be mounted to the wall outside of the window frame. So ideally you should attach the rod brackets to the wall rather than the metal. Use standard wall anchors or if you can locate the studs, use wood screws.

You can mount the hanger brackets for the iron curtain rod to a brick wall by marking the holes and using a drill with a masonry bit and plastic anchor inserts.   Drill the appropriate size hole according to the size of anchor you need and drive the anchor in using a hammer.
